Christina Lustenberger, nicknamed Lusti, is a legend in ski moutaineering. She opens lines which don't look human to ski with a big smile on her face. She looks so happy when she is out there, in the mountains. Documentaries like Earthside and Trango show her ability to focus, her outstanding skills and her low key approach. She goes where no one before dared to go. I am so impressed by her
She clearly outperforms her sport while staying very humble. You can feel how much pressure she puts on herself to safely reach the top before skiing for the descent. She doesn't celebrate when she arrives on the top. She prefers to keep her focus on the descent. On the same time, it is easy to witness how much joy all this brings to Christina

What brings you more joy in life? Mountaineering? Skiing?
Being in beautiful and interesting terrain brings me joy. Combining technical climbing with skiing has allowed me to engage with the mountains in new and exciting ways
How did you start skiing these impossible lines?
I transitioned from ski racing to backcountry skiing in 2008, and it wasn't long before I became captivated by the pursuit of skiing beautiful lines. In 2011, I began discovering first descents, and I've continued to follow that obscure and rewarding path ever since
Your new documentary Trango shows the difficulty and the feelings around this first descent. How Trango is special to you?
I think Trango represents a dedication to something you believe in no matter the hardness you might face. I am really happy to share with you Trango official trailer
